Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford, an American actor and singer. Her early Broadway shows included Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. Her first Tony Award was given to Ashford for her performance as Essie Carmichael, in You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh Ashford is a Tony Award winner actor has worked with a variety of acclaimed actors and directors for stage productions and on television. Ashford continues to build on her award-winning career with her upcoming projects. Ashford's next venture will be an exclusive Hulu series called Welcome to Chippendales, created by Robert Siegel. The show debuts on November 22 and Ashford stars opposite Kumail Najiani. Ashford's upcoming project will be Searchlight Pictures horror thriller Dust and he will be starring with Sarah Paulson and Ebonmoss-Bachrach. The film is an Hulu Original and will be streaming on Disney DTC. Ashford will return to Broadway on March 20, 2023 where he will star alongside Josh Groban opposite Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. The production is located at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Thomas Kail, director and producer of Hamilton will direct the production. Ashford's latest part was that of Paula Jones on Ryan Murphy FX's American Crime Story Impeachment. The series is based on a National scandal that featured Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky, as well as Linda Tripp. Ashford was the main character in two seasons of CBS comedy B Positive. In addition, she appeared on the hit series created by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre, which featured famous actors Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. No stranger to Broadway Ashford was awarded the Tony Drama Desk Award and the Outer Critics Circle Awards with her performance as Essie. Sunday in the Park starring George Wicked and Legally Blonde are amongst her additional Broadway credits. Her birthplace and childhood was in Denver Ashford is now dividing her time between Los Angeles and New York.
